Cooking can be pretty intimidating…but I am learning! I came from a household that primarily ate meals out of a box or a fast food bag. I really didn’t feel like I knew how to cook anything if there were not directions on a box. I am getting better with experimenting and trying new foods. I’m still a work in progress!
My Progress
MELT!
Today was our first trip to Melt, where you can get ridiculously large and delicious speciality grilled cheese sandwiches! Jim had seen something about this place on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and we had been dying to check it out. It is only about an hour away, but an hour in the car is really hard on Jim’s back. He wanted to brave it though, so I saved all my weekly points to use on this one meal. It was SO worth it! about MELT!
50 POUND MILESTONE
I hit a new milestone tonight! As of tonight’s weigh in, I have lost 50 pounds! It has been 7 months since I started. I gained last week for no apparent reason, and then this week I lost 5.2!!! I want everyone to know that sometimes it just works this way. We can get ourselves SO upset over gaining one week when we tried so hard, but it’s not about one week. It’s about long-term progress, and we have to get comfortable with the minor ups and downs. Trust me, I wanted to lose 50 pounds overnight, but about 50 POUND MILESTONE
ONEDERLAND
WOO HOO!!!!!
I MADE IT TO ONEDERLAND!!!
My last weigh in was 199.8. I may only have one toe in Onederland, but I am there! That scale has a 1 for the first number instead of a 2. I can’t even tell you how excited I am!!! Who wants to join me? You can do it, too. It all starts with the decision.
Happy Anniversary to Me!
My hubby and I celebrate 9 years of marriage this week! It has been a crazy ride, and we have been through a lot in those 9 years. I was a little apprehensive about celebrating while trying to lose weight because you wouldn’t think those two things would go hand in hand.
I saved all my weekly points for our night out, and I made sure to play DDR every day (my current favorite form of exercise) to burn extra calories. We had dinner at Crave, and it turns out I like duck! Being on WW has really helped me to become more adventurous with food. I never would have tried duck last year. Our meal was delicious, and we had a great time.
The best part is that I still lost weight this week!!! I guess I can handle special occasions without blowing off my goals for the week! By the way, I am 44.2 pounds down in this photo!
25 POUND MILESTONE
I hit a major milestone tonight! As of tonight’s weigh in, I have lost 25 pounds! It has been about 3 months since I started. I have started trying new foods and experimenting with new ways of preparing foods I already eat.
I’ve also been very diligent with my tracking because it helps me stay in control and allows me the flexibility I need to enjoy my life. I know it sounds contradictory that tracking gives me flexibility because it sounds so cumbersome to a lot of people. In truth, though, tracking everything shows me how many points I have left for my treats. The treats make it livable and something I feel like I can stick with! I also feel confident that I will keep losing by tracking and making sure I am staying within my points. I don’t have to hope I did well enough or get nervous about a weigh in. I am excited to weigh in to see how much I’ve lost each week!
I heard a quote recently that is very fitting: Would you rather EAT anything you want or WEAR anything you want? I’d much rather wear anything I want, but I also feel like I can eat anything I want if I plan for it. Once you start planning for your treats, you become much more selective in how you spend your points! 🙂
